Privacy policy

ArcEscape is a browser extension built by Soules Studio Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is stored.

What ArcEscape does

ArcEscape helps you export bookmarks from Arc Browser into a standard HTML file that any browser can import. It works in two ways:

• Mode A: You select your local StorableSidebar.json file. The extension reads and parses it entirely on your device.
• Mode B: You visit an arc.net/space/ or arc.net/folder/ page. The extension extracts bookmark data from that page.

Data we collect

None. ArcEscape does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We have no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking.

Data that stays on your device

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to temporarily store:

• Bookmark data from Mode B: When you click "Export" on an arc.net page, the extracted bookmarks are stored locally so the popup can process them. This data is cleared after the export completes.
• Session state: If you close the popup mid-export, your progress is saved locally so you can resume. This is cleared when you complete an export or click "Export another file".

No bookmark data, URLs, titles, or file contents ever leave your browser.

Permissions and why we need them

• storage: To temporarily save export progress and Mode B data between popup opens.
• activeTab: To interact with the current arc.net tab when extracting bookmarks (Mode B).
• scripting: To inject the export button on arc.net pages.
• downloads: To save the generated bookmarks HTML file to your computer.
• host_permissions (arc.net): To run the content script on arc.net space and folder pages only.

Payment processing

ArcEscape offers a one-time $2 payment to unlock unlimited exports. Payments are processed by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe as its payment processor. We do not see or store your payment details (card number, billing address). ExtensionPay stores a record of your payment status linked to your browser's extension identifier to verify your purchase.

Third-party services

• ExtensionPay / Stripe: Payment processing only. Subject to their own privacy policies.

No other third-party services are used. No data is shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other parties.

Your local files

When you select StorableSidebar.json (Mode A), the file is read entirely within your browser using the standard File API. The contents are parsed in memory, used to generate the export file, and never transmitted anywhere. The extension does not access any other files on your computer.

Children's privacy

ArcEscape is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Since we collect no data, changes are unlikely.
