How to export your Arc browser bookmarks
Published on March 8, 2026
Arc Browser doesn't include a built-in bookmark export feature. If you're switching to another browser or just want a backup, you need a different approach. This guide covers two methods to get your bookmarks out of Arc.
Why Arc doesn't let you export bookmarks
Unlike Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, Arc Browser doesn't have an "Export bookmarks" option in its settings. Arc stores your data in its own format — a file called StorableSidebar.json — which isn't compatible with other browsers. That's where ArcEscape comes in.
Method 1: export from your local file
This method uses the StorableSidebar.json file stored on your computer. It contains all your Arc spaces, pinned tabs, and favorites.
Step 1: find your StorableSidebar.json file
On macOS: Open Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G, and paste:
~/Library/Application Support/Arc/StorableSidebar.json
On Windows: Press Win+R and paste:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\TheBrowserCompany.Arc_[hash]\LocalCache\Local\Arc\StorableSidebar.json
Step 2: install ArcEscape
Install ArcEscape from the Chrome Web Store. It works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi.
Step 3: select your file and export
Open the ArcEscape extension, click "Select file", and pick your StorableSidebar.json. The extension reads it entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded. You'll see a summary of your spaces and bookmarks, then click "Export" to download a standard HTML bookmark file.
Method 2: export from a shared Arc link
If you've shared an Arc space or folder, you can export directly from the shared page. Not sure how to create a shared link? See our guide on how to create a shareable link in Arc Browser.
- Open your shared
arc.net/space/orarc.net/folder/link in any Chromium browser with ArcEscape installed. - A teal export button will appear at the bottom right of the page.
- Click it to download your bookmarks as an HTML file.
What you get
ArcEscape creates a standard Netscape bookmark HTML file. This format is supported by every major browser:
- Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi
- Firefox
- Safari
- DuckDuckGo
Your folder hierarchy, space names, and pinned tabs are all preserved in the export.
Free vs. unlimited
ArcEscape is free for small exports (up to 3 folders, 25 links per folder). For unlimited exports with all your spaces and folders, it's a one-time $2 payment — no subscription, no account needed.
Your data stays private
ArcEscape reads your bookmarks entirely within your browser. No data is sent to any server. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking.
